ALBANY, NY (August 29, 2012) — Eastwyck Village in North Greenbush (1720 Best Road), one of the Capital Region’s newest retirement living communities, will host free tours followed by a wine and cheese reception on Thurs., August 30 from 2-4 p.m.

Visitors will have the opportunity to view life within the community’s one- and two- bedroom apartments and talk with the residents in their homes. Tours will also explore the facility’s Clubhouse, indoor swimming pool and community garden. The event is open to the public. Please call (518) 874-1638 to RSVP.

“The foundation of Eastwyck Village is the belief that the key to aging well is living well,” said Retirement Counselor Amy VanderPloeg, noting that residents have a chance to enjoy everything from regular speakers and outings to Pilates and cooking classes. “We create activities and programs to keep our residents mentally and socially active so that they can achieve this.”
“The most common response we receive from residents is, ‘I wish I had done this sooner,’” said Adam DeSantis, director of community relations. “Here at Eastwyck, our residents live independently and comfortably and can finally do those things they want to do without being burdened by home upkeep. Our tours provide members of the community a glimpse of the unique experience we have to offer.”

Eastwyck Village offers views of the Hudson River Valley, the City of Albany and the Helderberg Mountains. Within minutes of the New York State Thruway and Adirondack Northway, the community is centrally located near shopping centers, tourist attractions and historic sites.
